Memphis point guard Mike Conley on playing closer games: “I think the last couple weeks of the season were beneficial to us because we had to play every night like we were in the last game of our season, like it was a playoff game. We didn’t know if we were going to make it in. Phoenix was there. Dallas was there. Every night was a struggle. I thought that helped us get our minds right, got us into a playoff style. That’s what’s helping us right now.”

Joerger on the Memphis bench outplaying the OKC bench again: “I can’t speak to anything that’s going on on their team, but a big focus for us … is Reggie Jackson. We’ve tried to do some things to keep him out of the lane.”

Allen on fouling Westbrook on a made 3-pointer late in regulation: “That was a bonehead play on myself. I take full responsibility for fouling Westbrook.”
