Today’s featured event:
Hear Megadeth, Black Label Society, Hellyeah and more when Gigantour stops today at Oklahoma City’s Zoo Amphitheatre, 2101 NE 50.
As previously reported, Megadeth founder and fronman Dave Mustaine recently announced that the the band’s Gigantour performance at Oklahoma City’s Zoo Amphitheatre will be a benefit to help those affected by the deadly tornadoes that ripped through the heart of Oklahoma in May. Megadeth will donate their proceeds from this Gigantour festival date to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
“Many amazing bands have come forward to aid Oklahomans since the May tornadoes came and tore apart their homes and lives,” said Mustaine in a news release. “Now it’s time for Heavy Metal to give to this community!”
Megadeth, a heavy metal band that’s been around for nearly three decades, has sold more than 38 million albums worldwide and earned 11 Grammy nominations. Their latest album, “Super Collider,” debuted at No. 6 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart, making this their highest debut since their multi-platinum albums “Countdown to Extinction” and “Youthanasia.” Megadeth also debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hard Music Chart.
Gigantour kicked off July 3 on the East Coast, where the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by Mustaine returns, with a new multi-artist bill featuring metal heavyweights Megadeth, Black Label Society, Device, Hellyeah, Newstead and Death Division.
