Today’s featured event:

See “Not Just Another Day in May,” a photography exhibition commemorating the storms that affected central Oklahoma in May 2013, on view through May 30 at Leadership Square, 211 N Robinson.

May 2013 was a devastating month for the people of central Oklahoma.  Multiple tornadoes destroyed several communities and took the lives of people, children, pets and livestock.  Professional and amateur photographers were invited to submit photos representing these storms, the aftermath and recovery.

Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center produced the photography exhibition in partnership with KGOU/NPR’s Tornado Project. The images selected tell the story of that emotional month.  Photos included in the exhibit include local photographers as well as members of the Associated Press.
