What's ahead for champs
6A: Jenks — The Trojans must replace a lot of skill position players, including quarterback Mark Ginther. But Jenks will still be at or near the top of 6A.

5A: Guthrie — Kye Staley will be gone, but running back Clayton Smith and quarterback Keaton Callins will have Guthrie back in the mix.

4A: McGuinness — The Irish look to have the makings of a dynasty. Tight end/defensive end Gabe Ikard and quarterback Ryan Randolph will be back as seniors as the Irish figure to again be the favorites.

3A: Clinton — Clinton is Clinton. They'll be back with a force as well. And with Kingfisher dropping to 2A, 3A-1 will be significantly less tough.

2A: Cascia HallThe Commandos figure to be the favorites once again with quarterback Sam Clancy, wide receiver Price Pinkerton and a host of other contributors expected back. Clinton's gain, though, could be Cascia Hall's loss, as Kingfisher could be in a position to challenge in 2A.

A: Okeene — Okeene coach Jeff Wardlaw appears to be building a dominant program in Class A. The class, though, is always one of the toughest in the state because of the extra round of playoffs. Class A also gets tougher with the addition of Morrison.

B: Morrison — There definitely won't be a repeat champion in Class B, with Morrison being forced up to 11-man football. This season's runners-up, Dewar, are also going up a class, as is Cashion. Pond Creek-Hunter could be the favorite by default.

C: Shattuck — The Indians don't appear to be letting up in their pursuit of Morrison's state-record winning streak. Shattuck has won five consecutive titles and will be the prohibitive favorite for a sixth entering next season.

Cascia Hall moves to 3A-3 in 2008.
