BEST BETS
•"Ghost Whisperer,” 7 p.m., KWTV-9. In the season finale, Melinda learns the truth about her father, which her mother has kept secret for years. But the information could come at a high price: her own life. Martin Donovan ("The Dead Zone”) returns as Melinda's father, Tom Gordon, in "Pater Familias.”

WORTH A LOOK
•"Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story,” 7 p.m., KOKH-25. Ben Stiller and his inspired co-stars — Vince Vaughn, Rip Torn, Alan Tudyk and Mrs. Stiller, Christine Taylor — skewer the whole "plucky champion” movie genre by setting it inside the lamest sport ever devised, then playing it as if their very souls depend on the outcome.
•"Signs,” 7 p.m., TNT. Even more than he did with his first follow-up, "Unbreakable,” writer-director M. Night Shyamalan proves his skill with "The Sixth Sense” was no fluke with this equally eerie 2002 suspense tale. Mel Gibson stars as a small-town Pennsylvania widower and ex-minister whose children (Rory Culkin, Abigail Breslin) have a better grasp than he does on the enormous crop circle that appears mysteriously on their farm.
•"Moonlight,” 8 p.m., KWTV-9. In the season finale, Mick and Beth realize that getting involved could be fatal when a passionate encounter between another vampire and a human leaves the latter dead. Mick joins Josef and the other Los Angeles vampires to keep their identities secret in the face of a murder investigation in "Sonata.”
