“If you're a kid and you're an NBA fan trying to emulate the plays of players, he's one of the guys that you're trying to emulate,” said Mike Karz, producer of “Switch.” “And then just in the last year that we've developed the project, he had the big playoff run and was the scoring champion. So we feel our time is really fortunate.”
Durant landed the starring role behind the efforts of his agent, Eric Goodwin. Nearly two years ago, Goodwin pitched a screenplay to Warner Bros. and his biggest client had been written in as the star.
“We read it and said this would be fantastic,” Karz said.
