Wheelchair-using woman reports rape at Oklahoma City group home

A 43-year-old woman told police she was raped. An Oklahoma City man who was questioned and arrested in the rape told police he lives and works at the apartment complex.

A man living at a complex that caters to people with disabilities is accused of raping a female resident who uses a wheelchair to get around, Oklahoma City police said.

Police were called Sunday to the apartment complex at 4511 S Madera St. after a 43-year-old woman reported a rape to a worker there. The worker called police.

The victim said her assailant entered her apartment Saturday evening through a back door, wheeled her into a bedroom, placed her on the bed and raped her.

The victim, who has cerebral palsy, had difficulty talking due to her disability, according to the police incident report. She told police she could not fight off her attacker but repeatedly said “No” throughout the ordeal. The woman was taken to the hospital for a rape examination.

Police questioned Chase Stafford, 22, of Oklahoma City, a man who lives and works at the complex. They Stafford on a complaint of rape. He was taken to the Oklahoma County jail.

The apartments are owned by Rainbow HIL Apartments, according to county records. A phone call to the property was not immediately returned.
