I would tell you that the family vacations of my childhood began with a Buick, brochures and a state map.
However, Dad was allergic to maps, or so it seemed. I never saw him get close to a map, which partially explains why we ended up seeing sunflowers on state signs — Kansas — when we headed for Osage Hills State Park near Bartlesville.Multimedia
