Now, we wait until Wednesday.
And so, too, must the Oklahoma City Thunder and its players, secure as the West’s top seed, but still unaware of who will match up with them on the opposite end of the conference bracket, representing the eighth and final playoff spot.
But it’s pretty simple, without getting into tiebreakers and minor details. OKC can play one of three teams in the first round — the Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz or Los Angeles Lakers — and that will be decided on Wednesday.
Here are the games of relevance:
-Jazz at Grizzlies / 7 p.m. CT / ESPN
-Rockets at Lakers / 9:30 p.m. CT / ESPN
And here are the easy-to-follow scenarios:
-If the Jazz and Lakers both win, OKC faces the Rockets
-If the Jazz win and Lakers lose, OKC faces the Jazz
-If the Jazz lose and Lakers win, OKC faces the Rockets
-If the Jazz and Lakers both lose, OKC faces the Lakers
Pretty simple. And should make for an interesting final night of the regular season.
