JET -- For a town of only about 200 residents, this Alfalfa County community has its share of big concerns.

Among them recently was deciding if and when the town office would be open, who would be running it and who was responsible for what.



With a large audience watching, the town board took on each issue, the Enid News & Eagle reports.

The city office will stay open, will have set hours and will have specific officers in charge on specific days.

To do it this way, the utilities clerk/treasurer will be in the office Mondays and Thursdays, the special duties clerk on Mondays and Wednesdays, if she's available.

The utilities clerk/treasurer defeated the special duties clerk in a municipal election. The special duties clerk was appointed by the town board.
