One of Central Oklahoma's most prominent couples, Bob and Nedra Funk, are pursuing a divorce.

Records filed in Oklahoma County District Court show a divorce petition was filed by Nedra Funk on July 2. In past interviews Bob Funk, chief executive officer of Express Employment Professionals, described how his wife had helped him build a billion dollar empire by overseeing accounting and records when he took over a failing temporary staffing services company in 1983.

Express Employment Professionals, which reported revenues totaling almost $2 billion in 2007, is a privately held company owned by Bob Funk and partner William H. Stoller. Bob and Nedra Funk are co-owners of 34 local offices.

Nedra Funk's attorney, Nicholle Jones Edwards, declined to comment on the case.

Bob Funk declined an interview but released the following statement:

"My family has been struggling through a difficult and private matter for some months now. We ask for respect of my family's privacy during this difficult time. We will have no further comment on this private matter.”
