LEATHERMAN Wilbur Allen Leatherman, was born July 14, 1924, in McLoud, Oklahoma, to Sam and Ruth Marie (Butler) Leatherman. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, the 17th of June 2001. He served in United States Army Air Corp and received the Good Conduct Medal. He served as a Deacon of the Union Missionary Baptist Church for 36 years and was a service representative for the DAV. He retired from Tinker Air Force after 31 years of employment, where he received recognition for superior performance for inventing a more efficient way for repairing and correcting B-29 aircraft engines. WiIbur Leatherman served on the Board of Commissioners for the Shawnee Housing Authority for 18 years and served as city councilman for the City of Brooksville. His parents preceded him in death, as did one sister. Living to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Alice Emma Leatherman; three sisters, Dorothy Crain, Hazel Burdine and Johnetta Phillips; his children, Ruth, Pat, Ronnie, Ycedra, Sheryl, Anita, Tina, Wilbur II (Buddy); 31 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of loving relatives and friends. Services are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2001, at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Shawnee, Oklahoma (Keller Funeral Home), Viewing 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. date of service
