The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and Wagoner County authorities are searching for a black bear that had been spotted in a tree in a residential backyard Thursday.

Craig Endicott, a wildlife supervisor for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, said a 2 1/2-year-old, 120-pound male black bear climbed down from a cottonwood tree outside a home near Oklahoma 51 and Oneta Road early Friday.

A barrel bear trap was set up under the tree and filled with food in an attempt to lure the bear down.
