Wildlife rescue may be next move for kangaroo, former Broken Arrow owner

McALESTER — Former Broken Arrow resident Christie Carr said she and her disabled kangaroo, Irwin, plan to move to Wild Heart Ranch, a wildlife rehabilitation center near Foyil.

McALESTER — Former Broken Arrow resident Christie Carr said she and her disabled kangaroo, Irwin, plan to move to Wild Heart Ranch, a wildlife rehabilitation center near Foyil.

Until a place there is ready, Wild Heart co-founder Sandy Brooks is arranging for them to live on her property near Owasso.

For now, Carr and Irwin are at her parents’ home in McAlester. They left their Broken Arrow home Wednesday because the city, Carr said, was threatening to seize Irwin.
