The Oklahoman's Jenni Carlson took questions from readers in today's Power Lunch Chat. Participate in our Power Lunch Chats Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. on NewsOK.com/Sports. Here's a look at today's Q&A:

Jenni Carlson 10:26 a.m. Hey, everyone! Start sending in those questions now. We'll talk Thunder, spring football, Final Four ... or whatever you want to talk about. It's all up to you!
Jenni Carlson 11:02 a.m. All righty, folks. Let's get going. Lots of questions already in, but still plenty of time for more to come. Keep sending them in!
Jay 11:02 a.m. Who won the office NCAA Men's BB pool at the Oklahoman?
Jenni Carlson 11:03 a.m. That's a great question, Jay! I have to admit, I don't know the answer, though. I know heading into the Final Four, one of our designers was in first. I was in second or third. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:03 a.m. I don't know who won, but I at least scored some points in the Final Four. I had Louisville winning it all. So, at least I got that right. :) ...
Jenni Carlson 11:03 a.m. Once we find out who won, I'll let you know.
harry man 11:04 a.m. Office Pool. that is illegal
Jenni Carlson 11:04 a.m. Thank you for having me clarify, Harry Man. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:05 a.m. I am actually referring to the brackets that we filled out and posted on NewsOK. We've been keeping track of those. We didn't have an office pool for money. At least, I sure wasn't involved in one. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:05 a.m. I usually do so horribly on my bracket that if I was in a pool, I'd just be giving away my money.
Thomas 11:05 a.m. Jenni, Against NY, It seem that KD was forced some of his shots, Your thoughts,Thanks
Jenni Carlson 11:06 a.m. Thomas, I think there are always a few shots in every game that feel forced, even when you're talking about a great player and great scorer like Durant. I didn't feel like he had any more of those than normal Sunday. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:07 a.m. I will say this, though -- it sure seemed to me that both KD and Melo were acutely aware of the other and the scoring race. It wasn't like one tried to match the other step for step, but you definitely got the sense that they were eying each other. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:08 a.m. KD has said that he doesn't care about the scoring title, but his actions Sunday sure said different to me. He's a competitor, and competitors like to win everything. For KD, that includes the scoring title. He wants it, even if he doesn't say so.
WBB Fan 11:08 a.m. Do you think Louisville can beat UConn tonight to win the championship? What will they need to do to pull off another upset?
Jenni Carlson 11:09 a.m. The Louisville women are quite the story. In regional play, the Cardinals knocked off the No. 4, No. 1 and No. 2 seed. Then they go to the Final Four and score another upset. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:09 a.m. All that said, I see no reason why they can't beat UConn tonight. Notre Dame was my pick to win it all after Baylor went down, and now that ND is gone, I'm picking Louisville to win. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:17 a.m. Hey, everyone, I just had to restart my computer! Sorry about the radio silence. We're back at it now!
Bill 11:17 a.m. Darnell said Jackson is not a star, but I contend he is and will become one. He is impressive protecting the ball and driving to the basket. I would love to see him on the floor more with Westbrook. Who would we sit down to do that?
Jenni Carlson 11:18 a.m. I don't think Reggie Jackson is a star just yet. He's a good player who's getting better every time he's on the court. But I'm with you in thinking that he could BECOME a star. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:19 a.m. It looks to me like your wish to see Reggie on the floor more with Westbrook may come true. Jackson played every minute of the fourth quarter Sunday, and I could see the same sort of thing continuing to happen more and more. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:19 a.m. A lot of it, though, has to do with matchups. If the Thunder's going small, Westbrook and Jackson playing together works. If it has to go with a bigger lineup, though, Jackson might end up being the odd man out.
harry man 11:20 a.m. UTAH needs to win this home game...utah 107, thunder up 103
Jenni Carlson 11:20 a.m. No doubt that the Jazz is in desperation mode. It needs every win possible to try to make the playoffs. But I think Sunday left a bad taste in the Thunder's mouth. I like OKC tonight.
Will 11:20 a.m. Will the basketball and football trophies reside anywhere but Kentucky or Alabama anytime soon? Geez
Jenni Carlson 11:21 a.m. Seems that those states have a strangle hold on that hardware, doesn't it, Will? An impressive run by those states. ....
Jenni Carlson 11:22 a.m. Now the question becomes, which trophy will have a new home first? I'll go football. I think Louisville and Kentucky will have a great chance to win basketball again next year. As good a chance as Alabama will have to win football, I just think there's more uncertainty there.
Cameron 11:22 a.m. I know writers don't generally get to watch spring practice, but who's your gut pick for OU's starting quarterback? Dies Kendal Thompson have any shot?
Jenni Carlson 11:23 a.m. We get to watch NONE of spring practice, so we just have to go on what we're hearing. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:23 a.m. And what we're hearing is that no guy has separated himself from the others. We're also hearing that Thompson has been better than expected. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:24 a.m. All that said, my gut says that Blake Bell will be the guy to start the opener. He can run the ball, we know that much. And remember, he came out of high school known better as a passer. So, we have to assume that he's able to throw it. That to me bodes well for Bell ultimately being named the starter.
Alan 11:24 a.m. Rate Scott Brooks' coaching performance this season.
Jenni Carlson 11:25 a.m. Pretty darn good. The team traded away its third-best player right before the season started, and yet, the Thunder still has a chance to win 60 games this season. Winning 60 games is a holy grail in the NBA. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:26 a.m. There's lots of people who deserve credit for how the Thunder has played this season, and that includes Scott Brooks. He's found ways to make a revamped lineup work. Has he been perfect? No. But I give him high marks.
Will 11:26 a.m. What would be on the menu for your Champion's Dinner at Augusta?
Jenni Carlson 11:26 a.m. Mmmm, we're so close to lunch and I'm so hungry. ....
Jenni Carlson 11:28 a.m. I'd go with a steak dinner and all the trimmings, then creme brulee for dessert. Really the only thing that I'd demand was that for desert.
Thomas 11:28 a.m. Jenni, Will we learn anything this Sat.OU spring Game, Your thoughts, Thanks
Jenni Carlson 11:29 a.m. I find that most spring games reveal little, so I can't imagine that we're learn too much at this one. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:31 a.m. Now, it'll be interesting to watch the quarterbacks and the defense. But will we know who the QB starter is going to be from what we see during the spring game? Or will we know if the defense is going to be much better from what we see? Doubtful on both counts.
Mike 11:31 a.m. Who do you think........... starts at qb for OSU? :)
Jenni Carlson 11:33 a.m. Sounds like it's going to be Clint Chelf. Last week Mike Gundy said that he doesn't see that there's any quarterback competition. It sure sounds like from what he said that Chelf is the guy. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:35 a.m. I have to admit, I was surprised to hear that. I really thought it would be more open ended if for no other reason than it helps to keep Wes Lunt and J.W. Walsh in the fold. But those guys have told our Gina Mizell that they're OK with whatever role they're in. Lunt has told her that he's OK with redshirting, for example. Again, I'm surprised that Gundy didn't leave the competition more wide open, but it sure sounds like Chelf will be the starter for the opener.
Eric S. 11:35 a.m. Which football team will have the better defense this year OU or OSU?
Jenni Carlson 11:36 a.m. Great question, Eric. Both are going through retools, so it's difficult to say how both of them will look. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:37 a.m. But given the personnel on campus, I'm going to say that OSU will have the better defense. It has guys like Calvin Barnett, Shawn Lewis and most all of its secondary back. At OU, the Sooners are replacing defensive linemen, linebackers and much of the secondary. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:38 a.m. There are more unknowns at OU, so I'll give OSU the nod right now. Get back to me on this question as we get closer to the season.
Jenni Carlson 11:39 a.m. All right, folks, that's all the time I have today. Sorry for my technical difficulties earlier! Be sure to join OU beat writer Jason Kersey for tomorrow's Power Lunch. He'll answer all your Sooner questions.
