One incoming Frontier flight scheduled for tonight has not yet been canceled, but probably will be, Carney said.

Cancellations will likely continue into Friday morning.

“I’m anticipating that flights, weather permitting, will begin arriving at 8 a.m. and slowly start returning to service,” she said.

Crews began deicing the runways Thursday afternoon.

Flight status can be checked on the airport’s Web site, www.flyokc.com. However, many of Southwest Airline’s arrivals were showing an on-time status, which isn’t accurate, Carney said.

She’s working with the airline to update the information.

Travelers should contact the airline prior to driving to the airport.

There will be no more departures today from Tulsa International Airport, said airport spokeswoman Alexis Higgins. Several airlines are evaluating weather conditions for late evening arrivals.

Morning departures will depend on whether the airlines have an aircraft in place, she said.

American, Continental, Delta, Southwest and United Airlines all planned to operate a morning departure.

Higgins said runway conditions at the airport were good as of mid-afternoon, with a surface temperature of 34 degrees.
