Travelers ready to fly

An estimated 60,000 travelers will fly through Will Rogers World Airport Thursday through Monday, said spokeswoman Karen Carney.

“Memorial Day weekend is the official beginning of the summer vacation season. School is out and people are ready to fly,” she said. “Travelers should expect the airport to be busy — from the ticket counters, to the checkpoints, to the boarding gates.”

Nontraditional travel days such as Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be busy, too. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least an hour and a half before their departure time and pack liquids and gels in bottles 3 ounces or less inside a clear zip-top bag.
