The Barons play Houston again Saturday night then travel to San Antonio for a Sunday afternoon game. Edmonton Oilers officials don't want their young stars to play three games in three days, which is why center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, the No. 1 overall pick in 2011, didn't play Friday night.

The Barons are giving away a vehicle at every Saturday home game all season. At Saturday's game, one of 20 final candidates will win a 2013 Jeep Liberty Latitude.

It's also presidential candidate bobblehead giveaway night. The first 3,000 fans receive either a Barack Obama bobblehead holding a hockey stick left handed or a Mitt Romney bobblehead holding a hockey stick right handed.

For the first time all season the Barons wore their new royal blue jerseys, a throwback look to the Edmonton Oilers' Wayne Gretzky glory days. ... Knowing the Thunder was playing its home opener across Reno Avenue, one woman brought a sign that read: “I'd like to see KD (Kevin Durant) do that.”
