Will X-Men movie universe expand with X-Force?

by Matthew Price Published: July 12, 2013

“X-Force” creator Rob Liefeld has confirmed via Twitter than an “X-Force” movie is in development.

Liefeld created the “X-Force” team with a batch of new characters including Cable, Feral, Domino and Shatterstar, along with former New Mutants Cannonball, Warpath, and Boom-Boom.   The first issue sold an estimated 5 million copies and at the time of its release, was the best-selling comic book ever.  (Check out more about X-Force #1 in my recent “Flashback 1991″ column.)  The team is part of the “X-Men” universe of characters and would be part of the Marvel properties that Fox could exploit under its deal for the “X-Men” film universe.

XMenFilms.com reports that Fox has registered the domain X-ForceMovie.com.  With Comic-Con International set for next week, it’s possible more news on this could come down the pipeline soon.
