A wind advisory is in effect for central, northern and western parts of Oklahoma Wednesday with rain and cooler temperatures in the forecast, the National Weather Service reports.

There is a 60 percent chance of rain Wednesday. A wind advisory is in effect 10 a.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Thursday. On Thursday winds could gust up to 40 mph.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Wednesday: Showers likely after 7 a.m. Increasing clouds with a high near 53. Windy with a south, southeast wind 14 to 19 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Wednesday night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Cloudy with a low around 50. Windy with a south wind 25 to 29 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Thursday: Cloudy then gradually becoming mostly sunny with a high near 78. Windy with a south wind 24 to 31 mph with gusts as high as 44 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 44. West wind 10 to 18 mph becoming east, northeast after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny with a high near 66. East wind 9 to 13 mph becoming north in the afternoon.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 37.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 67.

Saturday night: Mostly clear with a low around 44.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 76.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 51.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 69.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 45.

Tuesday: Partly sunny with a high near 69.
