Spa holds grand opening

Longevity Medi-Spa will celebrate its grand opening 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, offering customers door prizes and specials on most products and services. The business offers chemical peels, facials, microdermabrasion, Botox, lash extensions, acne treatments, photo rejuvenation treatments, skin tightening, hair reduction, weight loss and nutritional services. The medi-spa is at 3110 SW 89 in the Fountain Park Medical Plaza.

Make-A-Wish will be helped

Walmart shoppers can participate in a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Oklahoma during a Straight Talk wireless event Saturday. For each person who takes part in a brief demonstration of a Straight Talk wireless Android smartphone, the provider will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish with the goal of reaching $1 million nationwide. Twenty-seven Walmart stores in the metro area are participating; to find a location, visit OneMinuteOneMillion.com. Visitors to the site can also watch a video about the phone and for each view, the provider will donate 10 cents.

TLC Florist receives honor

TLC Florist & Greenhouses has been named a top 100 independent garden center by the Independent Garden Center organization. TLC was ranked 44th this year and has appeared on the organization's annual list every year since 1996. National chains, Internet or catalog retailers aren't included in the ranking.

Free health screenings offered

Free women's health screenings will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at all nationwide Sam's Club locations with a pharmacy. The retailer will give away breast self-exam kits during the event. Screenings include thyroid functionality, blood pressure, body mass index, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, glucose and vision testing, as well as prostate checks for men. Sam's Club has five metro area locations.
