OKC to get Potbelly Sandwich

Chicago-based Potbelly Sandwich Shop said this week that it is planning to enter the Oklahoma City market this year and is searching for franchisees. Potbelly said it is targeting Oklahoma City for expansion because of the city’s strong economy. Multiple new shops are planned for the Oklahoma City area. Potbelly is also targeting franchise growth into Tulsa, Norman and Stillwater. The company owns and operates more than 300 restaurants across the United States and has more than 20 franchise locations domestically and internationally.

Tornado preparedness class set

The disaster preparedness store Homestand Preparation Station is partnering with the American Red Cross of the Central and Western Oklahoma Region to present a class on tornado preparedness at 6 p.m. Thursday at the store, 2850 NW 63. Red Cross experts and Homestand staff will teach attendees techniques to prepare their homes and families for severe weather, including how to build a 72-hour emergency kit. People interested in attending the class can RSVP to Homestand staff also will commemorate the store’s recent opening with a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m., celebrating another community partnership with the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. Homestand Preparation Station opened in March.
