Walmart gives free ice cream

Free frozen treats will be handed out Saturday at Walmart Supercenters nationwide as the retail giant hosts an ice cream social. The freebies will include Ben and Jerry’s Flipped Out Cup ice cream, Blue Bunny Aspen Frozen Yogurt Granola Bars and Dibs Snack Bags. The ice cream will be given away from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at about 2,000 participating stores across the country. Walmart estimates it will give away 1 million treats.

Scholarship contest set
Bridgestone Americas is accepting entries for a college scholarship contest. Drivers nationwide ages 16 to 21 can compete by creating a video on the topic of auto safety or automotive environmentalism. The top 10 videos will be posted on YouTube, MySpace and Facebook for the public to vote for their favorite. The three student producers with the most votes will each be awarded a $5,000 scholarship and a set of Bridgestone tires. The video also willbe aired as a public service announcement. Nutro recalls dry cat food
FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Nutro Products is announcing a voluntary recall of dry cat foods because a production error led to incorrect levels of zinc and potassium in the food.
