HINTON โ€“ Two people reported glass broken out by possible gunfire along Interstate 40 Wednesday, and law officers are investigating whether someone fired shots at the vehicles.

Both possible shootings happened Wednesday. No one was injured.

The Canadian County Sheriff's office is investigating both cases, said sheriff's Capt. Kevin Ward.

A man from Louisiana was driving a pickup westbound on I-40 about 7 miles northeast of Hinton near Methodist Road in far western Canadian County said about 10 a.m. Wednesday the passenger side window of the pickup was hit. The window shattered and he stopped on the side of I-40 and called law officers. Ward said a bullet was not found. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers were notified of the possible shooting.

Then about 3 p.m. a man from Bethany reported his back windshield may have been shattered by gunfire as he was driving on I-40. The man said he was eastbound on I-40 in the same area when he heard a thump. The glass shattered, he said.

Anyone with information can call the Canadian County Sheriff's office at (405) 262-3434.
