CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The University of Charleston says women's basketball coach Sherry Winn is stepping down to pursue other endeavors.

Winn combined a record of 237-100 in 11 seasons at Charleston. Her teams made five appearances in the NCAA Division II tournament, winning East Region championships in 2005 and 2006.

Winn also played two seasons for the Golden Eagles and holds school records for most points in a season, 682, and career scoring average, 21.5 points per game.

The university said Tuesday that a national search for Winn's successor will begin immediately.
