Winter weather advisory in effect in Oklahoma Thursday

A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Oklahoma. The advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for most of Oklahoma until 4 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service reports.

A wind chill advisory is in effect until noon.

Parts of western Oklahoma could get 2 to 3 inches of snow while central Oklahoma could get 1 to 2 inches, the weather service reports.

Temperatures have dipped to 10 degrees in Oklahoma City with a wind chill factor of minus 5 at 4:30 a.m.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Thursday: Snow mainly before noon then a chance for flurries. High near 15. Wind chill values as low as minus 9. North wind 8 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 10. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of snow. Cloudy with a high near 28. Wind chill values as low as minus 1. South wind 6 to 13 mph.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 20. South wind around 11 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 42. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming north, northwest in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 18.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 34.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 19.

Monday: A slight chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy with a high near 35. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Monday night: A 40 percent chance of snow. Cloudy with a low around 22.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of snow. Cloudy with a high near 31.

Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 16.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 36.
