From the National Weather Service, Amarillo, Texas (coverage area includes

the Oklahoma Panhandle):

…Early taste of winter to invade the Panhandles late this week…

“A strong cold front will push through the Panhandles on
Thursday ushering a modified arctic airmass into the region. After
seeing high temperatures in the mid 60s to mid 70s on
Wednesday, highs by Friday and Saturday will likely only reach the
30s.

“In addition to the cold conditions, some wintry precipitation is
expected. The Oklahoma Panhandle and northern Texas Panhandle could
start to see some rain late Wednesday night, with this precipitation
then expected to spread southward and transition to a wintry mix from
north to south Thursday and Thursday night. This wintry mix of
precipitation will linger through Friday night, before drier air
works in by Saturday.

“Details regarding precipitation type remain uncertain at this
time, however periods of freezing drizzle, snow, freezing
rain and sleet currently appear possible which could lead to some
slick conditions. Early indications suggest snow and ice
accumulations will be light, but be sure to monitor the forecast
over the coming days as details become more clear.
