Without guns would there be unstable, evil people?

After the terrible Sandy Hook, Conn., tragedy, I've seen Facebook news feeds filled daily with people updating their status with reports of shootings occurring across the country. This is generally done to promote their viewpoint that guns are bad and need to be confiscated. What if we did that with vehicles, which kill approximately 32,000 people per year (as opposed to guns, which kill about 12,000)? What if the news feed was filled with reports of yet another person being killed in a vehicle?

Just as there are people with guns who shouldn't have them or have access to them, many more people shouldn't be driving but do. It's not legal to drive without a license, or while intoxicated, but people do it in droves every day. Even those who are licensed or not intoxicated pose dangers by inattentive or reckless driving. Our lawmakers can't provide legislation to protect us from every possible danger, bad and unfortunate things happen every day. And even if we were to confiscate every gun would there still be mentally unstable, evil, hateful and malicious people? Yes, and they'll find another method to unleash their madness. Did we not learn that from the Murrah bombing and 9/11?
