BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Western Kentucky has suspended senior linebacker Andrew Jackson indefinitely for violating team rules.
Hilltoppers coach Bobby Petrino said in a statement Wednesday night that if Jackson meets certain conditions, "he will be welcomed back for the Army game" on Nov. 9 in West Point, N.Y.
The Lakeland, Fla., native has 59 tackles including 4.5 for loss for the Hilltoppers (4-4, 1-3). He was chosen as a preseason Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
Sophomore Daqual Randall likely will start in Jackson's place against Georgia State in Atlanta on Saturday. Randall started over Jackson in WKU's loss at South Alabama and has eight tackles in five games this season.
