Woman dies in Lawton shooting, two men shot

One man is in the hospital in critical condition and a woman is dead after a shooting in a parking lot. Police believe the shooter attempted suicide after the shooting and he is in the hospital in critical condition.

LAWTON — One woman is dead and two men are in critical condition after a shooting in a bowling alley parking lot.

A man tried to kill himself after he shot a woman and a man about 11 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Thunderbird Lanes, 4405 NW Cache Rd, Lawton police Sgt. Craig Akard said.

Latesha Pettaway, 29, died after she was shot twice in the parking lot. The man with her, Shannon Taylor, 23, is in the hospital in critical condition after he was shot twice.

Police were called to the 400 block of NW 68 minutes after they were called to the shooting at the bowling alley, Akard said. Ricky McDaniel, 24, tried to kill himself.

Police believe McDaniel shot Pettaway and Taylor. He is in the hospital in critical condition.
