Woman found dead in Oklahoma lake, crash suspected

Published: September 26, 2012

SAND SPRINGS (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a woman has been found dead in Keystone Lake near Sand Springs.

Lt. George Brown says it appears the woman was driving on Highway 151 when she ran off the road Wednesday afternoon and her car rolled on the rocky bank.

Brown says investigators believe the woman suffered a head injury — then got out of the car and staggered to the edge of the lake where she either slipped and fell in or collapsed and fell.

The woman's name has not been released. Brown says her body will be sent to the state medical examiner to determine the cause of death — but that foul play is not suspected.
