Woman oil field operator to talk about the workplace at Edmond chamber meeting

“Women Who Work Like Men” is the topic of the July 25 Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce Women's Network Breakfast. Rachael Van Horn, a contract oil field lease operator, will be the speaker.

Rachael Van Horn, a contract oil field lease operator, will speak during the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce Women's Network Breakfast on July 25.

Her topic is “Women Who Work Like Men.”

She is the sister of Edmond City Councilwoman Victoria Caldwell.

Van Horn has worked as a full-time oil field pumper for Chaparral Energy and Sheridan Production and now is operating oil and gas producing wells in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

She worked full time in the cattle industry as a cowboy and still works for area cattle ranches during yearly gatherings.

Before that, Van Horn lived in Iraq, working for Halliburton as a liaison officer for base commanders in that region, providing infrastructure needs to American soldiers and local Iraqi communities.

She now is a journalist, a certified Elite Life and Leadership Coach and author of a novel, “Sage,” and the pamphlet “How to Stop Pillow Fluffing and Start Leading.”
