A woman said she was kidnapped and raped by a man who led Oklahoma City police on a pursuit that ended on Interstate 44, Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said Friday.
The 22-year-old woman said the man raped her Thursday afternoon in his pickup near E Wilshire Boulevard and Broadway Extension.
Nicholas Hatchett, 22, of Oklahoma City, was being held Friday in the Oklahoma County jail on $154,000 bail. He was arrested on complaints of kidnapping, rape, attempting to elude law officers, driving without a license and violation of a suspended sentence.
Wardlow said a motorist called police to report a man and a woman having sex inside a pickup. When a police officer arrived to investigate, the driver led law officers on a pursuit at speeds between 30 and 65 mph.
Officers used spiked sticks to flatten the pickup's tires before an Oklahoma County sheriff's deputy used a tactical maneuver to stop the pickup.
Hatchett was taken to a hospital for examination before he was arrested and jailed. Police said he had no injuries.
The woman told police she knew Hatchett and had used methamphetamine and had sex with him in the past, Wardlow said.
Police said items were thrown out of the car during the pursuit, but nothing was reported found, Wardlow said.
Hatchett was convicted in Oklahoma County District Court in 2010 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, court records show. A warrant had been issued for his arrest on an application to revoke his suspended sentence.
