Woman shot to death in former NBA player's Oklahoma City home
The father of a former NBA player who is now a Northwest Classen High School coach was arrested early Sunday in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found at his son's house.
Early Sunday, police went to the home of Leroy Combs, who played basketball for Oklahoma State University before he was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in 1983.
Police arrived at 3033 NE 15 about 3:40 a.m. and found the body of Virginia K. Moore, 54, who had apparently been shot to death, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.
Edgar Combs, Leroy Combs' 70-year-old father, was arrested and booked into Oklahoma County jail on a murder complaint.
Leroy Combs is not a suspect in the case, Knight said.
Knight said police are not sure what Moore's relationship was to the two men, and they are not sure if the elder Combs lived with the son.
Detectives do not know what led to the shooting, Knight said.
Anyone with information should call the homicide tip line at 297-1200.
