A woman was stabbed Friday while leaving work at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City but was immediately helped by coworkers.
University of Oklahoma Police Chief James Albertson said the woman was walking to her car in the parking garage about 2 p.m. Friday when she was attacked by a man who stabbed her.
Willie Napoleon, 41, was arrested on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic assault and violation of a victim’s protection order, Albertson said.
Albertson said the woman, whose name was not released, has a victim’s protection order against Napoleon.
Two men who work at the hospital intervened to stop the attack, Albertson said. They fought with Napoleon to keep him there until police arrived.
“A doctor helped provide medical care and took her to the emergency room in his personal vehicle,” Albertson said.
The woman had emergency surgery, Albertson said, but he did not know her condition on Saturday evening.
Albertson said an official police report on the incident was not available Saturday, and no names other than Napoleon’s were available.
