Oklahoma City police are searching for a woman who pulled a card trick and made nearly $800.
About 5 p.m. Sunday, a woman brought an iPhone case that was shrink-rapped and sealed into Walmart, 2000 W Memorial Road, and asked for a refund, police said. The woman presented the clerk with a receipt from a Guthrie Walmart for $771.61.
The woman got a full refund and left the store, but when employees opened the box, they found two decks of playing cards in place of the smart phone.
“She obviously thought this out and knew what she was doing,” Oklahoma City police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.
Surveillance video from the store shows the woman standing in line and leaving the store.
Police ask anyone with information about the woman to call 235-7300. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
