Authorities report woman who died in May Oklahoma City homicide was pregnant

A woman who died after a physical altercation with her boyfriend was pregnant, authorities report. Oklahoma City police say the unborn child brings to 24 the number of homicides in the city this year.

A woman who died in a May homicide in Oklahoma City was pregnant, which brings to 24 the number of homicides being investigated in the city this year, police said.

Maria Esther Gonzales, 29, had been in a fight with her boyfriend when she collapsed, Oklahoma City police Master Sgt. Gary Knight reported.

She was taken to a hospital, where she died four days later, on May 8.

Police were notified Wednesday that Gonzales was a little more than two months pregnant when she died.

There have been no arrests in the case and charges have not been filed.
