PURCELL — A woman's body has been found beneath the Lexington and Purcell bridge, McClain County Sheriff Don Hewett said.
The body was found about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, about 200 yards east of railroad tracks under the James Nance Bridge on U.S. 77 between Purcell and Lexington. Workers on the bridge discovered the body.
Hewett said the woman was white and appeared to be in her 30s. The cause of death is under investigation and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to assist.
