A women's health summit in Tulsa on Thursday is designed to increase awareness of obesity and diabetes and address ways to combat these serious health issues.
The summit, with a theme of “Wise Choices: Solutions to Obesity and Diabetes in Women,” is hosted by the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women.
Gov. Mary Fallin is scheduled to be there, as well as other health professionals in an open discussion. Other women will share their personal stories.
The summit will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at Warren, 6110 S Yale Avenue. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $45 and includes breakfast, a light lunch and afternoon breaks filled with exercises in laughter therapy.
