Work pays off for Rotnei Clarke

Rotnei Clarke wore out nets in small-town gyms across the state, becoming Oklahoma ’s all-time leading prep scorer to the tune of 3,758 points.

Still, some critics weighed in, questioning how a 6-foot kid playing Class 3A ball at Verdigris would translate to the next level.

So far — 10 games into his freshman season at Arkansas — it’s translated as such: 10 starts; 12.6 points per game...
