Since earlier this year, the wound care center has quadrupled business and added another chamber to accommodate more patients, executives said.

A hyperbaric chamber is used for patients with hard to heal chronic wounds and is usually used in conjunction with other treatment therapies. The patient is placed in a chamber with 100 percent pressurized oxygen for sessions that generally last 90 minutes.

Pressurized pure oxygen speeds healing by increasing the percentage of oxygen making its way into the wound, experts claim.
