WR Saunders transfers from Fresno St to Oklahoma

Published: May 15, 2012

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma Sooners are adding a wide receiver after a recent string of suspensions at the position.

Coach Bob Stoops announced Tuesday that Jalen Saunders has transferred to Oklahoma after leading Fresno State in receiving yards last season as a sophomore. Saunders had 50 receptions for 1,065 yards last season and led the Western Athletic Conference with 12 touchdown catches.

The Sooners are short-handed at receiver after All-American Ryan Broyles headed to the NFL and three other receivers — Jaz Reynolds, Trey Franks and Kameel Jackson — were suspended indefinitely last week.
