NEW YORK (AP) — The Yankees have recalled right-handed reliever D.J. Mitchell from Triple-A Empire State on Saturday and returned Adam Warren to their top farm club a day after he failed to get out of the third inning in his major league debut.

Warren gave up six runs and eight hits Friday night. He was promoted this week after starting pitchers CC Sabathia and Andy Pettitte went on the disabled list.

The Yankees bullpen also struggled Friday night and outfielder Dewayne Wise recorded two outs in the ninth inning of the 14-7 loss to the Chicago White Sox.

Mitchell made two appearances with the Yankees earlier this season, allowing four hits and a run in 2 2-3 innings, including his big league debut May 1.

New York hosted Chicago again on Saturday afternoon.
