Authorities have said Kylie Andrews apparently was trying to wake Horstman, and the pair were unable to make it out of the home before they were overcome by smoke and flames.

Brent Andrews said he is waiting to get more information about what happened from sheriff's deputies, who said it could take a week or more to finish investigating the incident. Faulty wiring was blamed as the cause of the fire.

Friends and family will mourn Andrews at her funeral at 2 p.m. Thursday at Goldsby Baptist Church.

“She was fun, witty. She never met a stranger,” Brent Andrews said. “She had a big smile. I think she was just born that way. I never did see her really down. She was always happy and laughing.”
