Yukon gives away smoke detectors
YUKON — Fire officials will give away free lithium-battery smoke detectors this week to Yukon residents.

The department received the smoke detectors from the state Health Department. The detectors will last a decade, Fire Chief Jeffrey Lara said.

When the lithium battery runs out in 10 years, the smoke detector will need to be replaced, Lara said.
