With a dozen scholarship offers on the table from schools spanning the country, Yukon offensive lineman Tyler Bowling settled on staying in Oklahoma, verbally committing to Tulsa earlier this week.
The 6-foot-6, 295-pound tackle chose the Golden Hurricane over Oregon State, Ohio, Wyoming and several others, according to Rivals.com.
Bowling, rated No. 17 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30 recruit rankings, is set to become the first Division I signee out of Yukon during coach Todd Wilson’s eight years at the school.
Bowling visited Tulsa for a summer workout late last week prior to making his official decision. He’s the eighth verbal commitment and the third offensive lineman in Tulsa’s 2014 class. Five of those eight commits are from Oklahoma high schools, including Norman North tight end Payton Prince.
