Yukon police car strikes, kills pedestrian early Saturday morning

A man was walking about 4:50 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of S Ranchwood Blvd. when a Yukon police car struck him, said Yukon police Capt. Michael Merry.

A man who was walking Saturday morning died after he was struck by a Yukon police car.

About 4:50 a.m., the man was walking in the roadway in the 400 block of S Ranchwood Blvd. when a police car struck him, said Yukon police Capt. Michael Merry.

The area where the man was walking is a few blocks south of the Yukon Police Department, Merry said.

Police haven't released the man's name pending notification of next of kin.

It wasn't immediately clear why the man was walking in the roadway, Merry said.
