Yukon to hold Chisholm Trail and Crawfish Festival

The Chisholm Trail and Crawfish Festival will be Saturday in Yukon.

Mud bugs and plenty of fun will be on the agenda Saturday in Yukon at the Chisholm Trail and Crawfish Festival.

The festival will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Family Farm, 1001 Garth Brooks Blvd. Admission is free.

The festival will include craft booths and exhibits such as a chuck wagon, saloon, jail and an 1892 Altman Canton Monitor steam engine.

A gunfight will be staged at 10 a.m., followed by a crawfish race. A Wild West show will be at 11 a.m. Also scheduled are a crawfish eating contest, Cajun dance lessons and a replica schoolhouse. You can see a demonstration of Civil War cannons in the afternoon.
