Yukon's Christmas in the Park offers a holiday surprise for some

A “Will you marry me?” display has been added to Christmas in the Park in Yukon.

“We don't know what to expect,” Deckard said. “We think it's something that's very unique. I don't know any other displays in the area that have something specific for marriage proposals.”

Other new displays include a large park scene and a church.

“We try to add something different every year,” Deckard said. “I think what we have works very well, but it's important to keep it fresh and throw in some surprises for people coming to visit us.”

Last year, 65,000 vehicles toured the display. Visitors also can take a self-guided walking tour over 2.2 miles of trails.

Kids can ride the Santa Express train from 6 to 10 p.m. daily for $2 per person. The train depot is inside Chisholm Trail Park.
