Annual powwow in Midwest City to honor veterans

The Tinker Inter-Tribal Council Powwow is scheduled for June 14 in Midwest City

The Parks and Recreation Department and the Tinker Inter-Tribal Council will honor American Indian veterans during the Tinker Inter-Tribal Council Powwow from 1 to 11 p.m. June 14 at Joe B. Barnes Regional Park, 8700 E Reno Ave.

Guests can experience tribal dancing, singing, food, art and jewelry as well as a special children’s event.

The powwow is open to the public and is a great opportunity for families to experience the vibrant and fascinating American Indian culture, event organizers said.
